What's New in Snacks: Highlights from the 2026 Sweets & Snacks Expo in Las Vegas

The 2026 Sweets & Snacks Expo took place May 19-21, 2026 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The snack industry just had its biggest week of the year — and the trends coming out of Las Vegas have some real implications for what ends up in your office break room.

The 2026 Sweets & Snacks Expo opened at the Las Vegas Convention Center, drawing a record 17,500 industry professionals and more than 1,000 exhibitors. It was also the first time the show has been held in Las Vegas after years anchored in Chicago and most recently Indianapolis — so for those of us in Indiana, there's a little local pride in watching it move on to the Strip.

As Bloomington's local snack and supply concierge, we pay close attention to what comes out of events like this. New products that win at the Expo tend to reach store shelves within months. Here's what stood out to us — with a focus on what actually makes sense for a real office break room.

The Biggest Trend: Snacks That Do Something

The headline story from this year's Expo wasn't a single product — it was a clear shift in what consumers and businesses are looking for. Attendees noted several standout trends including better-for-you snacks, yogurt snacks, and higher-protein meat snacks. Functional indulgence continues to gain momentum, with brands introducing products such as protein-packed chips and fiber-fortified options that let people snack without the guilt.

This is good news for offices. The days of the break room being a vending machine full of empty calories are fading fast. Today's employees — especially younger ones — are paying attention to what they eat at work, and they notice when an employer stocks options that reflect that.

Protein Is Everywhere

The most prominent theme across the show floor was protein. Frito-Lay showcased new Protein Doritos with 10 grams of protein per serving, while UTZ introduced protein-enhanced Cheese Curls. Quaker Oats highlighted Protein Rice Crisps. These are familiar brand names your team already trusts — now with a nutritional upgrade that makes them easier to feel good about stocking.

For offices that want to offer a healthier break room without sacrificing the familiar favorites people actually reach for, protein-enhanced versions of beloved snacks are a compelling middle ground.

The Trailblazer Snack Winner — Functional Popcorn

Belle's Gourmet Popcorn launched its Raspberry Rose Beauty + Glow Popcorn, which includes 3 grams of collagen peptides per serving with biotin and vitamin E. The Beauty + Glow popcorn won the Trailblazer Snack award at the Expo. Belle's also offers additional functional flavors including Energy + Focus, Immunity + Wellness, Protein + Gut, and Calm + Relax — each with different targeted supplements baked in.

This category — functional ingredients moving from a niche consideration to a mainstream expectation, with protein, fiber, and other wellness benefits becoming key selling points — is one we're watching closely as we build out our snack program offerings.

Better-For-You Brands Making Noise

Our Home, the better-for-you snack portfolio, showcased naturally protein-forward brands like ParmCrisps and Sonoma Creamery alongside other wholesome snacks. Both ParmCrisps and Sonoma Creamery are already familiar to health-conscious snackers and translate well to a professional office setting — they feel premium without being indulgent.

Hidden Valley Ranch also made its first entry into the refrigerated protein snack space with Hidden Valley Ranch Dippers — pairing 100% natural seasoned grilled chicken strips with Hidden Valley Original Ranch. A protein-forward, grab-and-go option that pairs a trusted flavor with a genuinely nutritious format.

What This Means for Your Break Room

The snack industry is clearly responding to what employees actually want — options that taste great and don't feel like a guilty indulgence. Self-care through snacking is an emerging trend, and offices that stock their break rooms accordingly are sending a clear message to their teams: we pay attention to what matters to you.

At Easy RE-UP, we keep a close eye on what's new so your office doesn't have to. As exciting products from events like this make their way to shelves, we evaluate them for our snack programs and rotate fresh options in on a regular basis — whether you're running a health-focused Clean Snack program or a mix of favorites and better-for-you options.
